To celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, on February 12, 2026, KinhBac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC) and Hung Yen Investment and Development Corporation (HYG) held the inauguration ceremony for the Thanh Ha overpass project in Ha Dong commune, Hai Phong city.

The project, a multi-level interchange connecting Provincial Road 390 Thanh Ha with the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway, has a total investment of nearly 400 billion VND. The overpass is approximately 224.2m long; the access roads, bypasses, and service roads are approximately 3.37km long. The bridge is designed with a composite steel box girder structure, a reinforced concrete deck, and a width of 15.5m, meeting the needs of two lanes for motorized vehicles.

The project opens up great opportunities for the development of the service industry and quickly becomes a development center for the region; with the enormous foreign investment attraction capacity of KinhBac City Development Holding Corporation (KBC), it promises to contribute to promoting high-tech, clean, green and circular industries as well as high-value-added supporting industries, making a strong and positive contribution to double-digit growth and confidently stepping into a new era for the Vietnamese nation in accordance with the spirit of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the decisive direction of the General Secretary.

Construction started on June 23, 2022, and to date, the project components have been completed and inspected and accepted by specialized agencies under the Department of Construction, ensuring technical requirements, quality, and traffic safety. The Department of Construction of Hai Phong City has reviewed and completed all procedures and conditions for inauguration to serve the transportation needs of the people before the Lunar New Year.

(Translation: The journey home for Tet will be “closer, faster, and a little cheaper” for the the people of Thanh Ha. Interchange of Provincial Road 390 with the Hanoi-Haiphong Expressway at Ha Dong commune (Old Thanh Ha) is officially opened to traffic.)

The completed project contributes to reducing traffic congestion and improving traffic capacity for vehicles in the surrounding area, effectively addressing urgent urban traffic problems and forming the city's core transportation infrastructure. The opening of the overpass at the 390 intersection shortens travel time for local residents from Hanoi to their hometowns for Tet (Lunar New Year) by approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 50 minutes compared to before; thereby combating congestion, ensuring traffic safety, promoting socio-economic development, and strengthening inter-regional connectivity.

The development of infrastructure, especially transportation infrastructure, aims to remove traffic bottlenecks, create momentum for rapid growth, and provide a strong impetus for Hai Phong city's socio-economic development and enhanced inter-regional connectivity.

The investment project to build the Thanh Ha interchange connecting Provincial Road 390 is expected to meet the city's development needs in the coming years. It will be a landmark architectural and landscape project at the western gateway, and together with the city's bridges, this vital interchange will contribute to changing the city's urban landscape towards a civilized and modern direction. It will also gradually concretize the Action Program of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee to implement the objectives of Resolution 45/NQ-TW of the Politburo on “Building and developing Hai Phong city until 2030, with a vision to 2045”: “Building and developing Hai Phong into a leading city nationwide in the cause of industrialization and modernization; a driving force for development of the Northern region and the whole country; with a modern, smart, and sustainable developed industry; and a synchronous and modern transportation infrastructure connecting conveniently with domestic and international destinations by road, rail, sea, and aviation”.
